Sulaiman Explains Why Foster vs Fulton Will Be for an Interim Belt

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman explained why the organization decided to allow O’Shaquie Foster and Stephen Fulton to fight for an interim title at Lightweight. This came after Fulton missed weight — the bout was originally set to be for the WBC Super Featherweight belt.

“It’s a great pity Fulton didn’t make the weight. We decided to support the promoters’ request to save the fight on a big show — a matchup that has already fallen through three times,” Sulaiman explained.

As a reminder, Fulton failed to make weight, coming in nearly a kilogram over the limit.
