On December 6, the fight between Stephen Fulton and O’Shaquie Foster — which was originally set to be for the WBC Super Featherweight title — will now have the interim WBC Lightweight belt on the line, insider Dan Rafael reports.
A day earlier, Fulton missed weight and failed to make the 58.96 kg (130 lbs) limit, weighing in at 59.87 kg (132 lbs).
“How about this absurdity — Fulton (a champ at 126 pounds / 57.2 kg) misses weight by 2 pounds and comes in at 132, Foster makes his 130, but the fight suddenly becomes for the vacant interim WBC Lightweight title (135 pounds / 61.2 kg), even though it was supposed to be for Foster’s 130-pound belt. Fulton is basically being rewarded for missing weight. What are we even doing?” Rafael wrote.
The fight will take place in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The official weigh-in results for the main bouts on the card can be found via the link.
